 Stoneware Bear Jugs

Salt-glazed stoneware jugs related to the sport of bear baiting were made from circa 1740, usually till around the end of the eighteenth century. White jugs were made in Staffordshire, and brown ones in Nottingham. Each is unique, and a few are shown here for illustrative purposes only as they are beyond the intended scope of this site.
