​148.3a.  Like 148.3 but arranged differently. My first thought was that a restorer put the figures back on the base in the incorrect places, but that is not so. Note the remnants of the table to the left of the base. Also note that the woman is pinching the man's nose!  This photograph was copied from Haggar's Staffordshire Chimney Ornaments, and Mr. Haggar's heirs own the copyright.

​148.6a. This ALE BENCH is the companion to fig. 148.6, both being on the same base. The group seems more spacious, in large part because the figures are a little smaller. The base is the same width as that of the regular ALE BENCH, and the depth is the same, but for the bump-out in front.
